What is HOME?

Mark 10:29

King James Version

29 And Jesus answered and said,

Verily I say unto you,

There is no man that hath left house,

or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother,

or wife, or children, or lands,

for my sake, and the gospel's,

We all go through the same stage.

The rebellion period.

And the repentance period.

Troubled teenagers get "sick of home".

Troubled adults get "homesick".

There is even this syndrome wherein millenials prefer living with their folks.

And yet their parents couldn't wait to get them out of their house.

People used to "hate" home.

Now, they can't wait to get back "home".

But what is home, really?

How would you define it?

How was your home?

Were you happy in it?

Did you feel safe?

Were you loved?

Or were you oppressed?

Tolerated?

Unloved?

Isn't a home filled with love?

Isn't a home filled with people who care?

Isn't a home filled with GOD-fearing people?

If those ingredients are not present, then you can't really call it a "home".

Only JESUS can offer you a TRUE HOME.

Amazingly, as I thought upon these things, SPIRIT led me to these verses from just one chapter in John:

John 14:1-4

King James Version

14 Let not your heart be troubled:

ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father's house are many mansions:

if it were not so, I would have told you.

I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you,

I will come again, and receive you unto myself;

that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

John 14:15-16

King James Version

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16 And I will pray the Father,

and he shall give you another Comforter,

that he may abide with you for ever;

John 14:23

King James Version

23 Jesus answered and said unto him,

If a man love me, he will keep my words:

and my Father will love him,

and we will come unto him,

and make our abode with him.

We suffer from a lack of love these days.

Only because sometimes, we ourselves don't know how to love.

We forget to appreciate people.

We forget to thank them.

We take them for granted.

We don't have GOD at home.

We worship many other gods.

The world is too much in us.

We need the WORD.

We need JESUS.

Our home is with JESUS.

But one day, all will be well for those who believe:

Revelation 21:1-7

King James Version

21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:

for the first heaven and the first earth

were passed away;

and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,

coming down from God out of heaven,

prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,

Behold,

the tabernacle of God is with men,

and he will dwell with them,

and they shall be his people,

and God himself shall be with them,

and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;

and there shall be no more death,

neither sorrow, nor crying,

neither shall there be any more pain:

for the former things are passed away.

5 And he that sat upon the throne said,

Behold,

I make all things new.

And he said unto me,

Write:

for these words are true and faithful.

6 And he said unto me,

It is done.

I am Alpha and Omega,

the beginning and the end.

I will give unto him that is athirst

of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things;

and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

And all those who oppress cannot be part of that home.

Revelation 21:8

King James Version

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving,

and the abominable, and murderers,

and whoremongers, and sorcerers,

and idolaters, and all liars,

shall have their part in the lake

which burneth with fire and brimstone:

which is the second death.

Revelation 21:27

King James Version

27 And there shall in no wise enter into it

any thing that defileth,

neither whatsoever worketh abomination,

or maketh a lie:

but they which are written

in the Lamb's book of life.

Seek the LORD now, that you may find the home you seek:

John 14:6

King James Version

6 Jesus saith unto him,

I am the way, the truth, and the life:

no man cometh unto the Father,

but by me.
