Curious name HANNAH

 

1 Samuel 1:2

King James Version

2 And he had two wives; 

the name of the one was Hannah, 

and the name of the other Peninnah: 

and Peninnah had children, 

but Hannah had no children.

Definitely a curious, if not strange, day yesterday.

The name "Hannah" surfaces, within minutes of each other.

From one sci-fi movie I saw partly --

"Linguist Louise Banks's daughter Hannah dies at the age of twelve from an incurable illness."

to a documentary, as I shifted to another station:

Host Hannah Fry on "The Secret Genius of Modern Life".

I also learned a new thing.

The word "palindrome".

"A palindrome is a word, number, phrase, or other sequence of symbols that reads the same backwards as forwards, such as madam or racecar"

Like the year 1881.

And HANNAH.

In the science fiction movie "Arrival", little Hannah remarked her name reads the same backward, or forward.

That was my first encounter with the word "palindrome".

What is it about the "Hannah" name today?

Came in two's, one after another.

That's a rare occurrence, so I need to check.

I let SPIRIT lead the way.

I waited for His usual "clues", and "prompts".

What did He want me to find out?

Should I check?

SPIRIT knew I would.

He didn't make me "workman" for nothing.

First, I check "The Name Book", and here's what I found:

Next, I check Scripture.

What does the Bible say?

Is there a "Hannah" in the Bible?

For sure.

We learn that she was childless, so she prayed to GOD.

1 Samuel 1:10-11

King James Version

10 And she was in bitterness of soul, 

and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore.

11 And she vowed a vow, and said, 

O Lord of hosts, 

if thou wilt indeed look 

on the affliction of thine handmaid, 

and remember me, 

and not forget thine handmaid, 

but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, 

then I will give him unto the Lord 

all the days of his life, 

and there shall no razor come upon his head.

GOD granted her wish to have a "man child":

1 Samuel 1:20

King James Version

20 Wherefore it came to pass, 

when the time was come about 

after Hannah had conceived, 

that she bare a son, 

and called his name Samuel, 

saying, 

Because I have asked him 

of the Lord.

Another curious thing I discovered today:

In the movie "Arrival", little Hannah died at age 12.

With Hannah's son, Samuel, Christian Answers wrote this:

"Here his bodily wants and training were attended to by the women who served in the tabernacle, while Eli cared for his religious culture. Thus, probably, twelve years of his life passed away."

TWELVE stands for "GOVERNMENTAL PERFECTION".

Best of all?

Hannah did not forget to thank, acknowledge, and praise the LORD:

My heart rejoiceth in the Lord, 

mine horn is exalted in the Lord: 

my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; 

because I rejoice in thy salvation.

2 There is none holy as the Lord:

neither is there any rock like our God.

3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; 

let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: 

for the Lord is a God of knowledge, 

and by him actions are weighed.

4 The bows of the mighty men are broken, 

and they that stumbled are girded with strength.

have hired out themselves for bread; 

and they that were hungry ceased: 

so that the barren hath born seven; 

and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.

6 The Lord killeth, and maketh alive:

he bringeth low, and lifteth up.

8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, 

and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill,

and he hath set the world upon them.

9 He will keep the feet of his saints, 

and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; 

for by strength shall no man prevail.

She also prophesied about JESUS:

1 Samuel 2:10

10 The adversaries of the Lord 

shall be broken to pieces; 

out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: 

the Lord shall judge the ends of the earth; 

and he shall give strength unto his king, 

and exalt the horn of his anointed.

Fulfilling her promise, she sent her son, Samuel, with her husband, Elkanah, to Eli, the priest.

1 Samuel 2:11

King James Version

11 And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. 

And the child did minister unto the Lord 

before Eli the priest.

Samuel grew up to be a fine boy.

1 Samuel 2:26

King James Version

26 And the child Samuel grew on, 

and was in favour both with the Lord, 

and also with men.

He became a prophet for GOD.

I honestly love being born again.

I never know where SPIRIT will lead me.

But one thing I do know --

It's wonderful being a student of SPIRIT.

It's ALWAYS an ADVENTURE in LEARNING.

From this article, another was "spawned".

Romans 1:25

Idola-TREE.

That makes GOD's blood boil like anything.

Man has serious learning disability, a very short attention span, and a deeply ungrateful heart, as he keeps turning to idolatry.

Observe why SPIRIT and I call idolatry, idola-TREE:

Jeremiah 10:1-4

10 Hear ye the word 

which the Lord speaketh unto you, 

O house of Israel:

2 Thus saith the Lord, 

Learn not the way of the heathen, 

and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; 

for the heathen are dismayed at them.

GOD is The LIVING GOD.

He is the FOUNTAIN of LIVING WATERS.

He is alive, vibrant, and powerful.

It is right God rages at all our abominations.

Early on, the LORD commanded:

2 I am the Lord thy God, 

which have brought thee 

out of the land of Egypt, 

out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image,

that is in heaven above, 

or that is in the earth beneath, 

or that is in the water under the earth.

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, 

nor serve them: 

for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, 

visiting the iniquity of the fathers 

upon the children 

unto the third 

and fourth generation of them 

that hate me;

6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them 

that love me, 

and keep my commandments.

I serve the LIVING GOD.

I am a child of the LIVING GOD.

Who do you think GOD speaks to, when He has something important to say?

Apart from angels, who does He choose to represent Him on earth?

First, observe how GOD is.

With kings:

Proverbs 25:2

2 It is the glory of God 

to conceal a thing: 

but the honour of kings 

is to search out a matter.

With prophets:

Amos 3:7

King James Version

7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, 

but he revealeth his secret 

unto his servants 

the prophets.

Romans 16:25-26

King James Version

25 Now to him that is of power 

to stablish you according to my gospel, 

and the preaching of Jesus Christ, 

according to the revelation of the mystery, 

which was kept secret 

since the world began,

26 But now is made manifest, 

and by the scriptures of the prophets, 

according to the commandment 

of the everlasting God, 

made known to all nations 

for the obedience of faith:

If prophets weren't God's voice, kings would not have sought them.

Prophets were of invaluable help when kings need to choose leaders, or successors, to help de-code their dreams, or to help them understand God's commands, or rebukes.

Mostly, GOD sends His prophets to WARN kings, and their subjects.

Whether they followed God's prophets, or not, was a different story.

Here's a partial list of who have been sent:

GOD chose prophet Moses, to warn the Egyptian pharaoh.

GOD chose prophet Ahijah, to warn king Solomon.

GOD chose prophet Elijah, to warn king Ahab.

GOD chose prophet Samuel, to give the ungrateful people the king (Saul) they asked for.

GOD chose prophet Samuel, to anoint David as king.

GOD chose prophet Nathan, to rebuke king David of his sin.

GOD chose prophet Jonah, to warn the king and people of Nineveh to repent of their wickedness.

As always, GOD has the LAST WORD.

Which is the spiritual order of things.
